Is your site secure?

Yes the order process on our site is secure. This can be identified by the padlock icon during check out.
All of your personal and card details are protected using 128 bit encryption when transmitted over the Internet.
The secure transmission of your order details is handled by Globe Charge (www.globecharge.com).

I have a problem with the shopping basket or checkout.

If you encounter any problems that don't allow you to order online, simply email us with your request.

It can happen that at times there are server or other problems that do not allow you to continue shopping online and or checking out.
If this is the case, please take a note of the items you would like and let us know by email. If you leave a telephone number we can call you and take your order over the phone.
In any case please inform us of the problem so that we can get it fixed.

How can I pay?

We accept a variety of payments.
During our secure checkout you can use debit, credit card or cheque as your payment method.
You can also call us with your details. Your credit card or bank statement will show payment made to EMKAY.
If paying by cheque please make it payable to EMKAY - Allow up to 5 working days for funds to clear.
You can also collect the item(s) that you have selected in our showroom. We will call or eMail you when your order is ready for collection.
You can also visit us and have a look at the large choice of products that we have in stock.
Visits are by appointment only. Remember to call first.

Where applicable all prices are inclusive of 17.5% UK Sales Tax (VAT - Value added tax). European customers with a valid VAT/UStIDNr and overseas customers do not pay UK VAT. We will advice you of this with the order confirmation were necessary. E&EO - errors and omissions excepted. 

What is happening with my order ?

You can check the status of your order while we are working on it.

With your confirmation notification you get a link to track the status of your order.
If in doubt please contact us.

I would prefer to buy from you but I have found the item at a better price somewhere else. Do you Price Match?

In case you like us as your preferred supplier and you have seen a product cheaper elsewhere - please get in touch. We are proud of our service to you and feel that where we can we match a price that you have seen elsewhere.

May be we are just behind with changing the prices as adviced by the kite manufacturer. Our service to you will not suffer should we be match a price.
Please let us know where you have seen the product cheaper.
We will only beat prices on a like for like basis. Quite often it appears that a product may be cheaper elsewhere but on investigation it may not be the same (especially when kite lines are offered free of charge).

How do I know how much I am spending?

After you add items to your basket, you will see the total £ of your shopping basket updated in the top left corner. Delivery charges are added during checkout.
The default price display is UK Pound Sterling (£). We also take payment in UK Pound Sterling (£). Our site gives you the opportunity to change the prices displayed (for reference only) to one of the major currencies used. If your currency is not listed and you need to check the cost in your countries currency please go to: www.exchangerate.com. This site will give you an approximate what you can expect to be charged.

What are your shipping cost and delivery times?

We ship to you using either FedEx UK or a Royal Mail/Parcel Force service depending on size and or weight or your preference if indicated. Should you have a preference than please let us know.
When using FedEx and or a Parcel Force service (we will advice by eMail)  make sure someone is in during daytime (up to 5pm).
Timed deliveries (i.e. before 10AM, before noon etc) are possible at a surcharge - Please ask.

Shipping costs added during checkout are for mainland UK deliveries only. Depending on weight and size orders are shipped using either Royal Mail, Parcel Force or a courier service (Fed Ex UK).
A signature will be required upon delivery.
Orders up to 10kg with a value over UK £80 are delivered free of charge to UK Mainland destinations.
Please allow up to 5 days for economy deliveries for in stock items. Shipping and handling cost varies from £1.50 to £5.50. Usually you will receive in stock items sooner as we do our best to handle your order within 2 days from receiving your order.

Next Day Delivery Service is available using RMail Special Delivery or FedEx UK at a cost of  £7.50.  For orders above £80.00 the charge is £4.00.
Please call us before 1pm on 07960 056678 to confirm that
a) we have received your order
b) that items ordered are in stock
c) that your order can actually be be shipped on time.

Remember that emails are not always instantaneous. 
If you call and we are busy and there is no answer - please leave a message and a telephone number and we call you back as soon as we are free.

For remote UK destinations (i.e.Channel Islands, Southern Ireland), European and International orders please

Can you ship to my work place?

Yes - We can deliver to your work place or any other address that you specify.

We are all busy peope and we miss the postman's delivery now and again.
The law of the delivery according to my wife is that you are likely in the shower, walking the dogs ore collecting the children when the delivery van arrives.
During checkout you have the option to specify a different delivery address.
If you want your parcel to be delivered to your work place, please make sure there is a point of contact that can sign for your parcel.

 

Do you have a next day service?

Most in stock items leave us 1-2 days (Mon - Fri) after the order has been received. Should you require an item sooner or you want it delivered on a specific day then you need to get in touch with us.

Yes - If we get your order in time, we can normally manage a next day service.
Cost £7.50 by RMail Special Delivery or FedEx UK. For orders above £80.00 the charge is £4.00.
BUT you will need to call us to avoid disappointment.
Emails can take longer than we or you would like to reach us. 
The fact that you have received an automated order confirmation does not mean we here at EMKAY Kites4U have received your order.
To ensure that you get a delivery the next day,  you will need to call us. Best on 07960 056678 before 2pm. No answer ? Don't worry. Please leave a contact name and a number and we you call back as soon as we are free.

I am from outside the UK - Can I order from you?

Yes - we can ship to pretty much most places on the planet.

If you are from outside the UK you can change the currency by clicking on the PICK YOUR CURRENCY above the navigation bar on the left. That should give you an approximate idea in the major currencies what the cost of your order will be.
We will advice you on shipping cost by email, as this depends on destination (Europe or outside Europe), weight and size of parcel.

Shipping to International destinations

We ship to most desinations on this planet.

No shipping charges are added during checkout. We will calculate shipping charges manually.
We will inform you by eMail about shipping charges before we process your order and/or take payment from you. This gives you the chance to cancel your order. 
Most destinations outside the European Union won't have to pay UK sales TAX (17.5%).
If this is the case we will recalculate the total of your order.
Please note that you might have to pay import or other taxes when importing goods form the United Kingdom.

How do I know that you have received my order?

Globe Charge that handles the secure order transmission will send an automated order confirmation to you. You can track the status of your order as well. We here at EMKAY Kites process your order, handle payment and shipping.
If for some unforseen reason your order status has not changed after 2-3 days, please get in touch by telephone on 01529 415700 or 07960 056678.

Important Note:
Due to many email spam filters and blockers set up everywhere on the Internet, it is no longer possible for any one to guarantee that emails will arrive at their destination. In the unlikely event that we have not responded to your order within 48 hours, please email or call us to check the progress of your order. The order confirmation that you will get comes from Globe Charge that handles the secure process of your order. It does not mean that we have received your order. We will always send an additional confirmation when Globe Charge has passed your order on to us.

How do I know that items are available?

Items that you can add to your shopping basket are normally in stock (unless specified otherwise). In the rare event that items sell out before we can update our database, we will inform you by eMail about any delays.

How do I order out of stock items?

If an item is out of stock and the option to order is available, you can pre-order the item.  We will inform you about the expected delay and also notify you when we are going to ship the item. You have the option to cancel your order at any time should you not be prepared to wait.
We do our best to update this site as best as we can.

How do I find out about products that are not listed?

There are many more kites out there waiting for a new home. In case you are looking for a special kite or a kite related item that you have seen somewhere, please get in touch and let us know. We stock and supply many more items than are listed here. If what you are looking for is not in stock we will do our best to get it for you or point your in the right direction.
